The field of mechanical engineering uses the basic principles of physics and mathematics to design and construct the mechanical devices that we use in our day to day life. The fields of automotive, aircraft, biotechnology, computers and electronics, energy conversion, environmental control, automation, and manufacturing all heavily rely on mechanical engineers. In order to fulfil the changing needs of the industries, we are creating exceptional mechanical engineers and technocrats who will be suited in a variety of functional areas like production, planning, maintenance, design, quality assurance, research and development, and others.

Candidates must pass their 10+2 or equivalent exam with a minimum of 50 percent marks from a recognized institution. They must have majored in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry in high school. The pupils must pass the entrance exam cut-off. Candidates seeking Lateral Entry into B.Tech must first finish a diploma program from a recognized institution.
